SpareCheck

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SpareCheck handles camera, microphone, local network, recordings, purchase, and support information.

1. Information SpareCheck handles

Camera, microphone, and local network

SpareCheck requests camera and microphone access to let a monitor phone send a live local check to a controller phone. Local network access is used to discover and communicate with paired devices nearby.

Pairing and device state

The app stores pairing codes, paired-device names, status, standby preferences, and plan state on device so reconnection is easier.

Local recordings

Manual and motion-triggered clips are saved to the monitor phone's local app documents storage. They are not uploaded by SpareCheck in the current app build.

Purchases

SpareCheck uses Apple in-app purchase and RevenueCat to manage subscription and entitlement state.

2. How information is used

3. Storage and retention

Motion recordings are stored locally on the monitor phone and are designed to auto-prune after 30 days. You can also delete recordings manually from the Files app when file sharing is enabled.

4. Service providers

Operational providers may include Apple for App Store purchases, RevenueCat for purchase entitlement management, GitHub Pages for this support site, and email providers used to respond to support requests.

5. Limitations

SpareCheck is not an emergency service, security system, baby monitor certification product, or professional surveillance product. It is a convenience tool for user-initiated local checks with spare devices.
